menendezUpdate April 1, 2015- The feds pulled the trigger and indicted the senator today. The NYT wrote, “Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey was indicted on bribery charges on Wednesday in what prosecutors said was a scheme to trade political favors for luxury vacations, golf outings and expensive flights.

The indictment, the first federal bribery charges against a sitting senator in a generation, puts in jeopardy Mr. Menendez’s political future and carries a possible sentence of 15 years in prison for each of the eight counts of bribery.”

(Although, one has to wonder, don’t all politicians these days do favors for campaign donors, as Menendez did?)

March 6, 2015- Perhaps in an effort to keep it balanced and not pick on just New York, the federal DOJ is now going after New Jersey’s finest, Senator Robert Menendez, on corruption charges, according to the NYT. Interestingly, his charges relate to his affiliation with a crooked doctor, as did Sheldon Silver’s.

With the arrest of New York’s finest, Shelly Silver, by the same DOJ, these are bad times indeed to be a corrupted official.

Sen. Menendez should have known better than to speak out in defense of Israel. Obama’s Justice Dept. can’t let that go unchecked.
