Battery Park (BPC) has long been the favorite spot for filming big budget Hollywood movies. But more and more, celebrities are choosing BPC as their place to live, rather than Tribeca.

Leonardo DiCaprio has purchased an apartment in one of the many new “green” buildings in BPC. Tyra Banks lives in the same building and is seen out and about quite often. More recently, owner of multiple Oscars, Meryl Streep was seen touring the new Conrad Hotel. She currently lives in Tribeca, but perhaps she has an interest in moving? And, of course, every year there is the Battery Park City Film Festival (AKA Tribeca Film Festival) with its headquarters in The Conrad Hotel and main attractions on the esplanade by the marina.

As the famous line in the baseball movies goes, “If you build it, he will come.” In this case, BPC has built the pristine parks, green eco-friendly buildings, and now has the premier restaurants and shops of the city. It is just a matter of six months before more celebrities move in.

Where will Tim Tebow move? Jeremy Lin is nearby.
