Update May 20, 2015- We have now heard conflicting reports indicating that Fairway grocery store is not coming to Tribeca, after all. Also, Crain’s has confirmed that Fairway backed out of the Hudson Yards project.
Update April 4, 2015- The real estate people who control 255 Greenwich confirmed to BatteryPark.TV in no uncertain terms that the Fairway grocery store is still coming to that location. Construction is underway, per below.
April 3, 2015- The Fairway grocery store chain tried to move in next door to Whole Foods on 255 Greenwich, right next to Tower 7 of the WTC, but the deal fell apart.
However, a tipster wrote to us today, “I just spoke to a “worker” who was working INSIDE the empty space of 255 Greenwich, they are starting to blacken the windows and I asked him if Fairway finally decided to move in?? He stated that was his understanding, Fairway is starting to build out space. What have you heard? Is Fairway finally coming to Tribeca?”
