In February of 2018, Amazon bought private company Ring for upwards of $2 Billion USD. Well, I had completely forgotten about this until I found the emails yesterday, but I gave this idea to the Ring founder in 2016. As of today, he still seems to think my idea was a novel one.

and Amazon could trigger the Ring doorbell to alert the owner when boxes arrive, using their tracking of their package. This is big because US mail and UPS rarely ring the doorbell so they can run away fast
