Parking meter in FiDiSeptember 18, 2013- By Rickmond Anderson

For years, it has been possible to park on the streets of Lower Manhattan without charge.  This has been very convenient to local residents of FiDi and Battery Park city.

Over the past two weeks, parking ticket machines have been appearing on the following streets, mostly east of William Street, Wall Street, Pearl Street, Beaver Street, Exchange Place, and Hanover Street for now. Is this a trend which will eventually cover all of Lower Manhattan ? Will metered parking appear once South End Avenue is redesigned in the coming months?
