New corporate tenants flee Brookfield Place shortly after signing long-term lease

Brookfield Vesey entrance 6-2-2014June 18, 2014- BatteryPark.TV has exclusively reported on the chaos within the Brookfield Property companies, and that the Brookfield Place renovations are years behind schedule. Those issues seem to be weighing on the tenants.

Commercial Observer reports, “Regus flexible workspace provider has closed its business center at Brookfield Place, a little more than a year after signing a 16-year lease there, Commercial Observer has learned. The company moved out of the lower Manhattan development quietly last month, the same month of its grand opening. “Due to a number of operational issues outside our control, Regus has closed its business center in [the building previously known as 3 World Financial Center],””.

    Unfortunately I cannot comment on the departure of Regus beyond confirming that they have in fact vacated 200 Vesey St.

    That said, we are extremely pleased with the office and retail tenants we have signed recently at Brookfield Place and have a healthy pipeline of further leases currently in discussion.
