I recently wrote the essay, If you build it, they won’t come, explaining why Brookfield Place retail stores were doing very little business. Now, we have learned that at least one store has already closed.
Posman books on the second floor has closed down only six-months after opening.
Also, the store space next to it has no signs of construction. A Calypso had been scheduled to open.
On the ground level by the main entrance, the Hermès home store is close to opening. Let’s see if the Fall shopping season helps these places survive.
