April 3, 2014- Crain’s reports, “Sen. Charles Schumer on Thursday introduced legislation that would allow bike-share memberships to be purchased with pre-tax dollars. Employers could also buy memberships for their employees and then write off the cost, Mr. Schumer said Thursday. Though Mr. Schumer did not mention Citi Bike’s struggles in his announcement, the idea could help raise revenue for the system.”
