March 30, 2014- CBS’ “60 Minutes” featured a fascinating story, written up by author Michael Lewis, about how high speed trading is just legalized front running of large clients trying to place orders. This was all discovered in 2008 by an RBC Capital trader, right here in Battery Park City, named Brad Katsuyama.
He has now formed his own stock exchange called IEX, and has the support of top hedge funds, Goldman Sachs, and large mutual funds. Mr. Katsuyama wins the BatteryPark.TV “Genius” award (like the Macarthur Genius award).
