- Yep. I’ve written about this. There were the equivalent of Central banks and inflation long before the 1913 federal reserve. They just created junk coins. The world completely changed when the mountains full of silver and gold in South America were discovered. That wealth flowed into Africa in Europe. It also ended up, through trade, in the hands of India. That’s how the Taj Mahal was built. It is why tiny countries like Portugal or Holland became powerful. They were plundering the gold.
