The first big story of the week was the U.S. sabotage of Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipeline. Denmark and others concluded that it was a deliberate act. The next day, the American-controlled Baltic Pipeline opened. This caused Russia to move closer toward the use of nuclear weapons. Then, Hurricane Ian hit Florida as one of the most damaging storms ever. Southwest Florida, from Naples to Fort Meyers, saw a 15-feet storm surge of flooding. The death toll and extent of damage is still unknown.
