I am reluctantly, out of boredom, watching some of the movies that won Academy Awards this year. The Korean-language Best Picture film, Parasite, was even more unwatchable than you would imagine given that it is in subtitles. It was slow and boring.
I then watched Judy, the biopic about Judy Garland. She is the actress who played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and then died at age 47 from drug abuse.
Renée Zellweger won the Best Actress Oscar. However, she was unimpressive. The script given her was so generic that anybody could have played the part and delivered the same performance.
This movie was unbelievably boring too. The makers expected the viewers to have extreme interest in the slow dialogue of a drugged-out woman. They could have made this movie much more interesting.
One also has to actually like Judy Garland musical songs to care two hoots about this film. She had a big cult following of gay men. I think that was the target audience of the film, actually. Otherwise, the viewer does not care enough about this character to get into the drama.
This is all the type of bad creative content that comes out of a fascist government, which Hollywood is now. PC police monitor in real-time as directors film scenes. Scripts and watered down. Casting is decided by identity. Entire plots are influenced by far-left fascist agendas. Hollywood died many years ago and there is no sign of life yet.
