We found a website, StatShow.com, that fairly reliably estimates the web traffic of sites. We ranked the viewership of the various local news sites that cover our area. Large conglomerates, such as The New York Post or Times, are not listed. We looked at the stand-alone sites that are true local news venues.

EV Grieve: With 4,528 page view per day, “evgrieve.com rank has decreased -11% over the last 3 months.”

Tribeca Citizen: With 2,887 page views a day, “tribecacitizen.com rank has decreased -15% over the last 3 months“. Note: The Tribeca population is several times larger than that of Battery Park.

Downtown Express: With 2,136 page views a day, “downtownexpress.com rank has increased 6% over the last 3 months”. This publication is helped by the fact that it is just one of several publication under the parent company, and has printed versions in free newsracks all over the area.

BatteryPark.TV: With 1,700 page views per day (based on our exact tracking numbers), ” batterypark.tv rank has increased 47% over the last 3 months“, making it the fastest growing local news site, by far, and also one of the most viewed in total. Total page views reached 40,000 in March.

Downtown Magazine: With 846 page views a day, “downtownmagazinenyc.com rank has decreased -17% over the last 3 months”.

Tribeca Tribune: With 821 page views per day, “tribecatrib.com rank has increased 5% over the last 3 months”.

DNAinfo: With 43,751 page views a day, “dnainfo.com rank has increased 6% over the last 3 months”. However, DNAinfo covers all five boroughs of New York, so the viewership of the “Downtown Manhattan” section is only a fraction of 44,000 viewers. If one divides by 5 (the number of boroughs), then by 11 (the numbers of sections they cover for Manhattan), then one derives a number of only 800 views per day, so estimate your own value from there.

City&State: With 1,553 page views a day, “cityandstateny.com rank has increased 41% over the last 3 months”.

eBroadsheet: With 113 page views a day, “ebroadsheet.com rank has decreased -56% over the last 3 months
