97th_and_Westend.001.JPGFebruary 10, 2014- The WSJ reports that New York State and City have very narrow definitions of vehicular homicide, including only people driving while drink or on drugs. Therefore, many dangerous drivers with past histories of deadly crashes continue to drive cabs.

However, that is no excuse for the TLC, which allows bad drivers to keep on killing despite fatal crashes. The TLC makes its own rules and can revoke licenses for virtually any reason that the TLC magistrates deem appropriate. Yet bad taxi drivers are a scourge to New York, nevertheless.
