Holy cow. I’m going through old stuff as I unbox and found my undergrad grades. These grades were an accurate predictor of my life 33-years later.

Mind you, I was NOT a straight-A student either. I was an OSU party student. This is an unusual quarter for me.

  • Finance 620- A: Decades later, in Wall Street, I was very good and stock valuation methods. Apparently, I got the highest score in Finance 620, which is the final ultimate class for finance majors. NYU Business school made me a job as adjunct professor teaching healthcare stock valuation, and I quit before I began because I saw how bad academia was.
  • Business Law- A: I am also very good at law now too.
  • Business Operations- A: This is something I do well at as well.

Finance was my major. I was in the College of Business. I took the STEM classes to go to medical school.

In hindsight, I was a bad student. I partied a lot. But if I liked a class, I did well. If I did not like a class, I got less than an A. My MCATS are the only reason I got into med school (and a good essay).

I also found this photo from 1997. These are my NYU surgery colleagues in The Hamptons. Andrew Klapper (left) is a plastic surgeon. Federico Steiner (center) is a thoracic surgeon. Me (right).
