Sheldon Silver’s Son-in-Law Pleads Guilty in Ponzi Scheme Case

July 14, 2015- The NYT reports, “A son-in-law e former State Assembly speaker, pleaded guilty on Monday to running a $6 million Ponzi scheme, according to court filings. The defendant, Marcello Trebitsch, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud in federal court in Manhattan. As part of his plea agreement, Mr. Trebitsch agreed to pay back more than $5.9 million to the victims. His sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 2.”

Sheldon Silver is currently being prosecuted in federal court for corruption charges.
