Captain Ahab had his Moby Dick. I have my Sheldon Silver local Democrats cabal. Both elude us and cannot be killed.

Ron Howard’s 2015 film “In the Heart of the Sea” is well cast with actors, such as Chris Hemsworth, Brendan Gleeson, and Cillian Murphy. It is the story of the whaling ship “Essex” that set sail from Nantucket in 1820. It was sunk by a large sperm whale and became the inspiration for Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.

The visuals and special effects deliver a convincing picture of whales and ships of the era. The screenplay avoided clichés that could have ruined the film.

This film is a little slow at times, but it is worth watching.
