A case against euthanasia

plant revivedMarch 12, 2016- by Steven E. Greer, MD

I have had this house plant for more than 20-years. It traveled with me all over the country.

So, I was saddened when it started to die.

I replanted it into a pot twice the size and added new soil. But it was still withering away.

I thought it was over and almost threw it away when I tried some final last emergency CPR (i.e. I pruned it back and cut the roots to stimulate new growth). However, that did not work immediately either.

Then, lo and behold, it started to grow back! All of that top growth in the photo is new.

Living things can be amazingly resilient. Humans near death in the ICU can survive. Plants like this can rise from the ashes.
