February 26, 2014- At the CB1 monthly meeting, it was announced that the new ballfields on Governors Island are available for use. Apply for permits here.
You will need to take the ferry. Also, the nearby Staten Island Ferry, which is free, gives you a good 40-minute tour of the Statue of Liberty and Governors Island.
Caution: don’t flaunt your iPhone or other gadgets. Crime is high near the ferry terminal.
