BPCA board Serpico Gallo MateoOctober 9, 2013- The Daily News is reporting that BPCA board member Fernando Mateo is one of several restaurant owners drawing the ire of local residents of Inwood in the northernmost tip of Manhattan. An organized group calling themselves “Moving Forward Unidos” asserts that the “restaurants” are really just late night clubs, and that the NYPD is failing to enforce the closing times specified on the liquor licenses.

The article states, “A citizens group, Moving Forward Unidos, launched an effort to flood the inbox of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly with complaints and demands for stepped-up enforcement…. The livid co-owners of the widly popular waterfront party place, Josh Rosen and Fernando Mateo, chalked up the complaints to a “small group of people.” “They get to hijack the conversation,” Rosen said. “It becomes really unfair.””
