A viewer suggested we try Terroir in Tribeca. I went there in 2011 when it opened, but for some reason forgot all about it. This is an affordable upscale wine bar or lounge that we can recommend.
The small open kitchen produces some nice small sandwiches, salads, and entrees on par with Blue Smoke or Gramercy Tavern. That is because some of the owners got their start at Gramercy Tavern. I forgot to speak to one of them, Paul Grieco, so I do not have more details.
I ordered a meatball hero, which arrived with a fresh hero bun. The French fires were made well and came with three types of dipping sauces.
Terroir attracts a respectful crowd of young people. If you dislike crowded joints with drunks, you will like Terroir better.
The best part was the check. Draft beer was only $5.
