I try to watch all of the small art films nominated for Academy Awards. However, this year, there was slim pick’ns. The first Netflix to arrive was Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. This film is even worse than it seems.

Yes. The stars of the film are truly three billboards. Zzzzz.

Yes. The film was nominated for an Oscar due to the usual PC formulaic reasons. It depicts a heroic liberal white female. It has PC-laden cliché characters, such as the racists white male, the victimized black worker, and the abused wife.

Frances McDormand won the Oscar for Best Actress. However, she was not acting. She seemed to be showing up to set playing herself and reading lines. There was absolutely nothing remarkable about her performance.

Character actor Sam Rockwell won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. His depiction of a Southern bumbling racist sheriff deputy was as laughable as the comic books his character read.

The only good performance came from Woody Harrelson. He played the sheriff and imparted some interesting watchable traits. Caleb Jones, who first broke out in 2017’s Twin Peaks, was also good.

The ending to Three Billboards is so bad that it will make you either laugh or turn off the TV in anger.

The 2018 Academy Awards were the lest watched in many decades. A-list stars avoided it due to the #MeToo pitchfork mob environment. The movies awarded were chosen for PC reasons, but in a quantum leap more egregious manner than previous Hollywood.

Next up for my punishment: The Shape of Water and Lady Bird.
