I forced myself to watch La La Land. Sometimes, I am pleasantly surprised when I go into a movie with such a bad prejudice. However, in this case, La La Land is worse than I even imaged. This film is boring, poorly acted, and poorly cast.

Blah Blah Land (To steal a term used by a famous Hollywood Director I know) is a musical, but the songs are terrible, made worse by the lip-syncing. To watch Ryan Gosling sing is cringe-provoking. Emma Stone, who somehow won an Oscar for this performance, does not look good or sound good.

This pablum of a film succeeded with the critics and The Academy solely because it was an incestuous glamorization of Hollywood itself. The rest of America hated it.

When the Best Picture award was botched by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway as they falsely announced La La Land as the winner last February, they accidentally played the biggest joke on viewers. It was if they wanted to see the expressions on the faces of viewers, then say, “Ah, just joking.”

Perhaps karma was a factor for the 2017 Academy Awards being the worst televised event in the history of the Oscars. Hollywood tried to ram La La Land down our throats just to glorify itself. In turn, that crime backfired and ruined the show.
