Jose Garces is opening his fine dining tapas restaurant called Amada across the street from El Vez in Brookfield Place. It is not well known that he was the first El Vez chef in Philadelphia working for Stephen Starr. A big reason Garces signed up with Brookfield is because he saw that Starr was having success at El Vez.

Amada will be managed by Jose Garces, but the chef will be Justin Bogle, according to The Daily News. Mr. Bogle was the youngest chef to be awarded 2-Michelin-Stars while at Gilt restaurant, back in 2006 through 2012.

The Amada restaurant will be 120-seats and designed by architect firm AvroKo, which also designed Gotham West Market and Saxon + Parole.
