June 11, 2015- At the CB1 Tribeca meeting last night, it was announced that the Tribeca Grand Hotel will convert the basement into a 150-seat jazz club to be designed by the team that runs Silver Lining on Murray Street. We did not attend, but the GM of the hotel confirmed the details.
They have had a small jazz performance going on upstairs for some time, with good success. Downtown is completely devoid of such performing arts venues currently, so this should be a nice addition.
Of note: The Tribeca committee still has no Chairperson since Peter Braus abruptly “resigned”.
