What happened to the Colgate clock in Jersey City?

A reader/viewer asked what happen to the Colgate clock landmark visible from Manhattan over in Jersey City. It was taken down for repair and will be replaced.

    Thank you – almost any one i know who lives on the Hudson or frequently makes use of the walk turned to this clock as an extraordinarily convenient time marker.
    Sad to see it go – but i understand it was badly hit by Sandy and after numerous attempts at mending it, it still refused to work.

    Unsure whether it was taken down to be properly repaired – or whether it was thought not to be worth it anymore.
