It’s the end of this community as we know it, and I feel fine

That’s great, it starts with a Pier-A
Birds and snakes, a noisy helicopter, Sheldon Silver is not afraid
Eye of hurricane Sandy, listen to yourself churn
BPCA serves its own needs, don’t misserve your own needs

Overpriced food, $4,000 apartments, condo conversions, speed, grunt, no, strength, no
Crane collapse, with fear of height, down height
Wire in a fire, Cuomo represents the construction industry
In a government for hire and a combat site

Left BPC, wasn’t coming in a hurry with the furies
Breathing down your neck
Story by story, reporters baffled, trump, tethered crop
Look at that low plane, fine then

Uh oh, overflow, population boom, Brookfield Place
But it’ll do, save yourself, serve yourself
Brookfield serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
Tell me with the rapture and the reverent in the right, right
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight the BPCA
Feeling pretty psyched, then more just come along to replace them

It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                                 It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                                It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                              And I feel fine

Six o’clock, CB1 hour, don’t get caught in foreign tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock Silver and Galloway in jail, blood letting
Every motive escalate, all the records incinerate

Light a candle, light a motive, STEP DOWN, STEP DOWN
Watch a heel crush, crush, uh oh, this means no fear
De Blasio, homelessness, all that crime
Slashing, slashing a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, Ha, offer me alternatives and they decline                                              Look away, look away, apathy

It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                                It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                                It’s the end of this community as we know it                                                                              And I feel fine, because I’m gone
