George Santos has announced that he is filing an ethics complaint against Representative Nicole Malliotakis. In the middle of the banking crisis, Malliotakis bought stock in New York Community Bank, $NYCB Two days later, $NYCB took over dozens of branches from Signature Bank. The stock rose over 112% in the following months. Malliotakis met with the Department of Treasury to discuss the closing of Signature Bank before making the trade. She is a representative from New York, which is where $NYCB is based. She has claimed that a financial advisor made the trade for her. Malliotakis wasn’t the only politician to trade bank stocks during the banking crisis.
