The reason deadly cab drivers keep their TLC licenses
February 10, 2014- The WSJ reports that New York State and City have very narrow definitions of vehicular homicide, including only people driving while drink or on drugs. Therefore, many dangerous drivers with past histories of deadly crashes continue to drive cabs.
However, that is no excuse for the TLC, which allows bad drivers to keep on killing despite fatal crashes. The TLC makes its own rules and can revoke licenses for virtually any reason that the TLC magistrates deem appropriate. Yet bad taxi drivers are a scourge to New York, nevertheless.

February 4, 2014- By Steven E. Greer, MD
At the Battery Park City subcommittee of the CB1 tonight, at the very end, the most important news of the entire meetings was whispered out by George Calderaro. BatteryPark.TV asked him to repeat it more loudly.
The CB1 claims that U.S. House of Representatives member Jerrold Nadler has written to the Captain of the Port of New York Harbor, Gordon Loebl of the U.S. Coast Guard, to find a common sense solution to the ferry boat horn nuisance. This is a crucial development. Continue reading

Mayor de Blasio’s social equality platform: A fascinating experiment
January 22, 2013- By Steven E. Greer
We are witnessing a fascinating political science experiment unfold in New York City. Mayor Bill de Blasio won the office by tapping into the protest vote. Millions of New Yorkers had become disaffected with Billionaire Bloomberg and his “1% ilk”. His trampling on the civil rights of “people of color” with his NYPD Stop and Frisk policies only added to the desire for a mayor who would be the opposite of the 5’7″ tall Bloomberg. So, the people elected a 6’5″ Catholic mayor, who promised to help the working class and poor.
Bill de Blasio’s platform pledged to restore justice and create more of a level playing field for the people living in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. That message was so appealing to candidates seeking the presidency that 2016-hopeful Hillary Clinton made sure to be seen at the January 1st inauguration of Mr. de Blasio. Bill Clinton swore him in.
Then, real-life tests hit the new mayor, in the form of two snowfalls. Continue reading

It just became more difficult to use a non-profit for personal gain in New York
January 12, 2014- By Steven E. Greer
There are certain templates for corruption commonly used by schmucks in New York. As previously reported, one of them is to form a “community center”. The awarding of construction and other operational contracts can be the vehicle by which to steer lucrative bribes and kickbacks toward local officials. Several State Assemblymen were arrested related to community center bribes.
Another template for corruption widely used in New York is the abuse of non-profit status, tax-exempt, funds. The non-profit 501c originations, governed by the State Attorney General’s office, always have noble goals listed in their formation documents, and receive tax-exempt status as a result.
However, unethical executives of the non-profits can then use those tax-free revenues for improper payments to other for-profit organizations, often owned by friends and family, or cronies, of the executives of the non-profits. In some brazen cases, the CEO’s of the non-profits actually pay their own for-profit company that they run on the side, in the same office building address. The practice is so commonplace in New York that few even realize it violates the laws governing non-profits.
To address this metastatic corruption, Continue reading
