Unofficial minutes of the BPCA meeting to approve the 2013 budget

We were live blogging the BPCA board meeting today. Below is a summary of the comments.
Update 1: The BPCA board is discussing the 2013 fiscal year budget, “Expenses going down every year, revenues going up”. This means more money for the city, and the residents here pay for it. $126 million “excess revenues”, all goes to the city. We who live here cannot even get a traffic light on West Thames Street. Without public comment, Poulakakos dominates BPC

With the news that the World Financial Center might lease 25,000 square feet to the Poulakakos restaurant family to build a food court similar to Eataly, suddenly the Poulakakos’ group now dominates Battery Park City (BPC) and both of the ongoing Battery Park City Authority (BPCA) construction projects. The program funding new diesel engines for the NY Waterway boats

BatteryPark.TV has extensively reported on the NY Waterway ferry polluting diesel engines, and the $7 Million granted by the state NYSERDA and city DOT for the purpose of retrofitting the engines. After claiming in 2011 that the new engines were “ordered”, the CEO of the company, Paul Goodman, is now claiming that Hurricane Sandy is the cause for none of the engines having been actually installed.

Update on the ballfields from the CB1 meeting 1-15-2013

The CB1 meeting tonight discussed the ballfields. CB1 member Anthony Notaro mentioned that the board has requested an answer from the BPCA as to why the turf fields cannot be used now, as a temporary stopgap measure, until the RFPs are processed and the fields are completely replaced.
