Broadsheet fails to report on Gateway Plaza windows problems
Opinion February 5, 2013 By Steven E. Greer
As previously reported, the Gateway plaza Tenants Association convened a meeting last night to discuss the energy audits and what needs to be done to bring Gateway into the 21st Century of energy efficiency. The local advertising flier, The Broadsheet, published by Robert Simko who lives in Gateway, posted an online article about the meeting. Astonishingly, the most important developments of the meeting were completely left out of the article. Continue reading

CB1 pretends the Galloway/Townley anti-Asphalt Green MOU never existed
February 16, 2012 By Steven E. Greer
BatteryPark.TV has previously exposed the scandal behind the attempt of CB1 member Jeff Galloway to draft an unwanted Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and have it signed by the BPCA, which would have served to protect the special interests of Bob Townley’s nearby Manhattan Youth from competition from the new Asphalt Green community center. Recall, this MOU was never signed for more than two years by the Gayle Horwitz BPCA administration, and was thought to be dead when BPCA Chairman announced that he would not sign it. Then, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the proponents of the MOU thought that the crisis might represent an opportunity, and resubmitted a tamer version of the MOU. After BP.TV reporting, this latest MOU was never brought up as a resolution to be voted upon at the December 19th CB1 meeting and seemed to have a short life.
During multiple CB1 meetings, as all of the drama detailed above was taking place, the author of the MOU, Jeff Galloway, refused to show the document to the Battery Park City subcommittee of CB1. Therefore, BP.TV submitted a freedom of information request to CB1 to obtain the mystery MOU. The CB1 legal staff replied Continue reading
Why is the city shutting down at 2:00 AM?
October 18th, 2009 This weekend, on a survey of more than five hotel bars, regular bars, and restaurant bars in Bowery, SOHO and Tribeca, all of the establishments shut down no later than 2:00 AM despite having plenty of customers. What is the explanation for this seemingly voluntary forfeiting of (more…)
BPCA guidelines clearly allow for replacement of ballfields without RFP delays
January 16, 2013 By Steven E. Greer, MD
BatteryPark.TV has exclusively reported that the BPCA has the authority to replace the ballfields, and repair the Asphalt Green community center, without going though lengthy RFP contract delays. However, for unknown reasons, the BPCA has chosen to announce RFPs before granting the ballfields construction contract, raising concern that the Little League season will be disrupted.
BP.TV has obtained Continue reading

Have you ever used the Doorman’s Guide?
February 14, 2012 The local advertising flier The Broadsheet self proclaims that it’s other advertising flier, The Doorman’s Guide, is the most used reference for local shops. Just a Storm? Not After the Hurricane
February 8, 2013 The New York Times By CARA BUCKLEY Perhaps in any other year, the nor’easter would have been met with little more than a shrug in the New York region. Sure, some people would still have stocked up on batteries, water, food and snow shovels. But even they (more…)

Bloomberg expands in London
New York Times By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM LONDON — It is the biggest development in this city’s buzzing financial district, and even Olympics-jaded Londoners call it grandiose: two bronze-and-stone towers, connected by sky-bridges atop the ruins of a 2,000-year-old Roman temple. Bloomberg Place, roughly the size of a Manhattan city (more…)
Battery Park City CB1 meeting, February 2013
February 5, 2013 By Steven E. Greer
At the monthly CB1 meeting tonight, the much anticipated updates by the BPCA on the ballfields and Asphalt Green repair projects were much ado about nothing.
