Will Asphalt Green survive in Sheldon Silver’s district?

Asphalt Green has been open for seven months. Is the community finding it to be indispensable, or is it a source of angst and a big disappointment? Listening to the Community Board 1, one would conclude that Asphalt Green is nothing but a luxurious country club for the wealthy, taking public funds, promising to be a “community center”, yet failing to provide “affordable” recreation.
