How Asphalt Green eventually opened

Finally, seven years after the Battery Park City Authority approved the creation of the Asphalt Green community center, it will open this weekend and be nearly 18-months behind schedule. Undoubtedly, on June 15th at the opening, numerous politicians and bureaucrats will flock to the ribbon-cutting ceremony and have their faces captured in the photo-op.

Danny Meyer sells 40% of the company
Update August 15, 2014- Reuters reports that the private equity firm Leonard and Greene and Partners LP purchased the 40% stake in USHG, not Goldman Sachs as were guessed.

Will Danny Meyer relocate his original Union Square Cafe to BPC? The NY Times reports that he is closing the original restaurant in Union Square as the rent has risen too high. The new location is yet to be determined.
