American Cut recently opened in Tribeca at 363 Greenwich Street, near Franklin Street. It is a joint venture between Chef Marc Forgione and the LDV Hospitality group. The first American Cut is located in Atlantic City.
I stopped by this new Tribeca steakhouse on Thursday, and then again on Friday for a full meal. Something seemed different right away about the place, to my trained eye. Continue reading

May 4, 2014- Famed chef David Keller recently made news for fighting back against city health department inspections that many have called nothing but added taxes. The inspectors make up arbitrary violations that have to be settled with fines in order to get the “A” in the window.

I counted approximately seven people opposed to the 4:00 A.M. liquor license for the Pier-A nightclub and beer garden (i.e. closing at 4:00 AM and opening at 7:00 AM, or a 22-hour service of booze) in the CB1 meeting audience tonight , but I do not know what people in the Visioniare or Millennium look like. When the story broke yesterday about a 16-year-old kid breaching One World Trade Center security, I called every editor and journalist I knew to remind them that the Goldman Sachs parachutists last year also jumped from the WTC. The journalists agreed, once again, that it was a good story, but their editors blocked the story. Last Fall, the same reporters were blocked from reporting this by their editors.
