March 22, 2014- The Post reports, “City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito expressed reservations Friday about a proposal to force well-funded park conservancies to share their donations with small or neglected parks. NY Times covers local BPC effort to stop helicopter noise
March 22, 2014- BatteryPark.TV first got Rep. Nadler involved in a quality of life problem plaguing BPC and other waterfront neighborhoods. The hundreds of tourist helicopters each day are a serious cause of stress for residents, as are loud ferry boat horns.
BP.TV also recommended to the most vocal complainer of the helicopter noise, South BPC resident Delia von Neuschatz, that she form an official website. She did so, and the site is called StopTheChopNYNJ.

Exclusive: Bob Townley’s Manhattan Youth investigated by State Attorney General

Bob Townley is the founder and operator of the Manhattan Youth Recreation and Resources Inc, a 501c New York State regulated non-profit. It operates the community center on 120 Warren Street as well as the after school child programs for most of the public schools Downtown (PS’s 276, 89, 150, 397, 343).
In addition, Mr. Townley personally owns a small hotel in Upstate New York called the Belleayre Lodge & Cabins, to which Mr. Townley sends kids from his Manhattan Youth to summer camp. That facility is a for-profit entity, not a non-profit 501c.

Zero coverage in local press of most important issue to BPC in years

BatteryPark.TV exclusively reported that the operators of the new Pier A restaurant were granted by the CB1 a rare 4:00 AM liquor license in a residential community. Attending the CB1 meeting on March 4th were reporters from all of the local sources. One week later, not a single source has reported on the meeting.
