Twitter interview with banned-for-life Wall Street tech analyst Henry Blodget
January 11, 2014- By Steven E. Greer, MD
Disgraced Wall Street sell-side technology sector analyst, Henry Blodget, who was banned for life by the SEC from working in Wall Street, is making a comeback in tech by running a news aggregation site called Business Insider. It has funding from Tech Titans, such as Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, The Huffington Post, and others.
Mr. Blodget was interviewed by Charlie Rose, and Charlie asked him whether the tech stocks are in a bubble again, ala 1999. He dodged the question, but then went on to claim to be a current prognosticator of an overall stock market bubble yet to burst. Perhaps hoping to vindicate his “pump and dump” reputation earned in the last tech bubble, he bemoaned to Charlie Rose that he wish he had called it a bubble at the top in 1999.
Meanwhile, Mr. Blodget refused to label tech stocks, such as Twitter (TWTR), as being bubble-valuation equities, despite Twitter having a market cap of $40 Billion in December of 2013 (it has already fallen 25% in valuation to $30 Billion, in less than a month).
We decided to seek some answers from Mr. Blodget via the Twitter venue. After a 12-hour delay, he did engage us in an interview, see below: Continue reading
Tips of the Week: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and how to cure it
January 23, 2013 By Steven E. Greer, MD
Thanks to a few medical doctors, most notably Robert Lustig of UCSF, it is becoming known that humans can develop fatty liver disease even if they do not consume alcohol. Certain foods are processed exclusively by the liver and have no other pathway than to be converted into fat and stored in lover cells. Sugar and trans-fats are the big villains. Also, overeating of other food will cause NAFLD, but not as quickly as fructose, trans-fats, and alcohol.
One can be normal weight and still have excessive fat around the abdominal organs and a fatty liver. This can lead to lack of energy, diabetes, cancer, and other illnesses.
Dr. Lustig was recently featured on CBS’s “60 Minutes” about the harm of fructose and how it has contributed to the obesity epidemic. I asked him some questions too. Continue reading

Gateway prevails over dog rider dispute. Pit bulls banned.
Update January 19, 2014- At the recent CB1 meeting, Glenn Plaskin tried to revise history by claiming that his dog group fought Gateway management and stopped the implementation of new lease riders banning certain dogs. That is utterly false, as you can read below.
October 1, 2012 By Steven E. Greer
The month-long negotiations between LeFrak’s Gateway Plaza management, who were trying to change the terms of the leases to restrict dog owners, and a small group of tenants led by resident Glenn Plaskin and Jeff Galloway, have concluded. Both sides seem to have compromised and a rational outcome was achieved. Continue reading

Exclusive: BPCA replaces Matt Monahan, hires another crony
January 13, 2014- BP.TV exclusively reported on the departures of the BPCA’s Matt Monahan and Anne Fenton. Sources tell us that long-time local Democrat activist, Robin Forst, has been hired to replace Matt Monahan.
To our knowledge, Ms. Forst has no training in public relations or journalism. How did she land this six-figure job (assuming the pay is on par with the former employee, and consistent with pay patterns of the BPCA)? Was the open position properly advertised to the public?

New City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito is a multi-millionaire
January 13, 2014- That new City Council Speaker who markets herself as a champion of the 99% poor working class is secretly a multimillionaire. Her father in Puerto Rico was a successful eye doctor and sold a hospital for $165 Million.
City&State reports, “She is less widely recognized as a millionaire who grew up in an exclusive suburb of San Juan, and who established residence in her district only four years before first seeking election there….
The Councilmember’s inherited wealth, which appears to have made her among the richest members of the new Council, has been buried in her official biography, which stresses her public service. However, records indicate that Mark-Viverito’s father, Dr. Anthony Mark, was a successful eye doctor and the founder of San Pablo Hospital, one of the largest private hospitals in Puerto Rico, which was sold in 1998 for at least $165 million….. Enough already with the running quarterback
Update January 19, 2014- The loss by the 49ers today, led by their running QB, and the exceptional play of Peyton Manning for the Broncos, supports my thesis, below.
December 9, 2013- By Steven E. Greer, MD
The concept of the modern “running quarterback” arguably started with Tim Tebow at Florida in 2006 (or Vince Young at Texas in 2005). The Gators trounced Ohio State in the 2007 BCS Championship, then won again in the 2008 BCS Championship. Coaches took notice and recruited their own freakish QB athlete. Ohio State recruited 6’6″ Terrelle Pryor, who runs a true 4.3 second 40-yard dash. However, his throwing motion was atrocious, leading some to suggest he should have been moved to wide receiver. After Pryor was hyped to win the Heisman, out of nowhere came Cam Newton, at 6’5″ and fast, to win the BCS Championship for Auburn and the Heisman. Then came Robert Griffin III (RG3) and Johnny Manziel to win the Heisman. This year, Jameis Winston of Florida State and Braxton Miller are/were in the running to win the Heisman and BCS Championship.
That seems to be a great track record for the new position of the running quarterback, but things change quickly in Big-Time football. Defenses have caught on and neutralized the running QB in the NFL, and NCAA defenses are becoming more effective as well.
Over the past weekend, we saw Continue reading
