American Express dumps Tribeca Film Festival
August 6, 2013- American Express has dropped the Tribeca Film Festival and will no longer be the deep pockets funding the event. CB1 asks City Council for funding of Bob Townley programs

BatteryPark.TV previously reported on the possibility that the BPCA will revoke the $250,000 free grants given to Bob Townley’s Tribeca community center called Manhattan Youth. PEP officers need to walk, not ride in golf carts
Opinion August 3, 2013- By Steven E. Greer, MD
With the spike in violent crime and grand larcenies Downtown and within Battery Park City borders, I have been keeping an eye out the Park Enforcement Patrol officers (PEP) that the BPCA pays $2.5 million a year to retain. The authority hires 45 officers, far more than any other city park, yet walking PEP are rarely seen. Instead, they are almost always insulated from the community by riding around in Plexiglas enclosed electric vehicles.

NY Post covers our story on dubious BPCA grants
August 7, 2013- BatteryPark.TV has extensively reported on the dubious free money handouts given by previous BPCA administrations to so-called charities. USHG might not be the juicer for new Brookfield Equinox gym
Update August 1, 2013- Danny Meyer’s Unions Square Hospitality Group has not yet signed on to be the provider of juices and sandwiches at this Equinox, despite having such deals with other Equinox gyms. Ice rink killed grass. Sod now dead too.
