No Atlantic Hurricane in August, First Time in 11 Years

August 30, 2013- Bloomberg is reporting that there has been no hurricane this month, which is a first since 2002. The reason is a massive dust storm in Africa, where the hurricanes form, with sand in the atmosphere floating all the way to South America, disrupting cloud formation. (more…)

Stalled project at 90 Washington makes progress

Greer The apartment building at 90 Washington, directly adjacent to the newly planned 700-feet tall high-rise, has quietly been progressing, and might be completed next year. I ventured beyond my immediate “hood” to get gourmet pastries and coffee in Tribeca at the awesome FIKA (Please do not go there. It is my spot). The ride was great exercise as well, easily burning off the few hundred calories from the freshly baked Swedish Cardamom roll.
